• Gillingham in Dorset and the French town of Le Neubourg in Normandy, have been formally twinned since 1977. Biennial visits have been established and in May 2024, Gillingham Twinners visited Le Neubourg to celebrate the 47^th anniversary of these most enjoyable exchanges.

 

• FANCY A NEW EXPERIENCE? Enjoy a weekend 'en famille' in beautiful scenic Normandy. Taste delicious wines, cheeses and typical French fayre. Then, if you are able, return the favour and host one person, a couple or a family to give them a taste of English favourites and show them our amazing villages, vales and stunning scenery.  We have members of all ages in Mere, Motcombe, Bourton, East Knoyle, Shaftesbury, Zeals and of course Gillingham. The ability to speak French is not an issue!  It’s fun with or without and you will soon pick up important or useful phrases; any French you do have will soon be revived!  Why not join us? 

 

• We organise fun activities throughout the year - Skittles, petanque, walks, BBQ, quizzes and other social get togethers. The main event is our traditional Exchange visit. The next Exchange visit will be that of the French Twinners to Gillingham on the weekend 29 May/2 June 2025 which will include time with hosts, a day excursion and a reception to celebrate friendships old and new.
